What is it you want to use the networking for between the real O/S (XP) and the virtual one (95)? If it's just simply files, then install the Virtual Machine additions (from the file menu in VPC) and then just use the "share folders" option. If it's the net, then you need to install TCP/IP in 95, as it is not installed be default. Then, you need to set it up to use DHCP.

Get back if you need any more help :)

i have them both seeing and sharing files now.... but still no internet. i manually set the network. Workgroup. 95 is 192.168.0.2 and the MS Loopback adapter on xp is 192.168.0.3 and both are in subnet 255.255.255.0. My dialup connection is shared. What am i missing. I tryed the IE 3.0x and nothing, I ahve installed Opera 8.2 in the 95 machine and still nothing.

Thanks.

Hi again,

Have you got a firewall loaded in XP? If so, have you given Virtual PC full access?

Another problem could be your browser from the Windows 95 Virtual Machine - try and install the latest version possible (5 i believe, for 95) and when the connection wizard runs, select the "I connect from a LAN" option.

Good luck
