Virtual Memory Slow down

Running Win '98 SE, I find that when my swap file reaches about 70 Meg then the computer slows down. i.e. slow to respond to mouse clicks, redraws slow etc. Windows is managing virtual memory & 300 Meg free space on the HD. A reboot knocks the swap file back down to size and all is then OK for a day. 96 Meg RAM. Any Ideas?
The above post is pretty much correct...cause it takes some overhead to constantly resize the swapfile. After setting it to a constant size [max and min the same], try adding the line
ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1
to your system.ini as the last line in the [386Enh] section.
I did it because every so often a game would chunk. This way it only touches the swapfile when it runs out of physical memory.
