On a Win98SE PC running a multimedia program with a touch screen, having a problem with the screen periodically going black. Sound and touchscreen function continues, and if you hit a key on the keyboard, display comes back up. Have set all power settings to Always on, including monitor, hard disk, etc, in the Control Panel. Also disabled power management in BIOS. Tried swapping out the video card and monitor (One at a time) with another terminal that's working fine, no difference. It's something in the PC other that power mgt and video. Any ideas?

Be more specific on what kind of multimedia program you are running, and exactly when the screen goes black during the application.

I would go back through and double check all the power settings both in Windows and the Bios.

It's a custom-made multimedia program put together several years ago for our business. It's running on three different standalone PC's, and we've had no problems with it until recently on this single computer. I have not yet gone through the reinstallation process on the program.

I have double and triple checked the power mgt. settings in the BIOS and Control Panel.
