i have made a home video through a analog video cam. the quality is very bad and i would like to enhance the quality of the file. it was in vcd format. i changed it to divx but when i increase the brightness the video becomes grainy. Is there a good video editing software which can make it bright, sharpen etc without making a mess of the video. I would also like to put it back on VCD format. Will there be any change in quality.

The best you can hope for is quality equal to the original.

To add a little. Once you have degraded the quality of the video, there is no way to improve it.
