Reply: (edit)Go to the Diamond web site www.diamondmm.com
and search for the latest drivers for that video card. Good luck.

Reply: (edit)I have a s220 Stealth and found that the older setup program (one that came with it) actually works better for me than the newest one on the web. The screen was dark until I set it to 32 bit true color and used Gamma color correction with their software. I don't know about the 2500, though.

Reply: (edit)I upgraded to Windows 98 and have a stealth 2500 series video card. Diamond told me that they did not have a driver for that card that would work with Win98, but that there were some other people out there that may have found a solution. He said the best bet was to replace the video card with a newer one. Do you know of any other place that I might be able to get a driver for this card that would allow me to it with Win98?

Reply: (edit)I'm having the same problem. I've sent email to Diamond's Legacy Products support line; "I need a driver to run my Diamond Stealth 24 v. 1.03 video card with Windows 98. The system was working great on Windows 95, but my OS was unstable. Since I upgraded to Windows 98 I have been unable to get 98 to recognize my video card and it keeps defaulting to VGA 16 color. I've downloaded the Windows 95 drivers and tried to install them, but Windows 98 is not accepting the new drivers. Are there Windows 98 drivers available? If not what can I do other than upgrading video cards?"

Reply: (edit)Go to www.driverguide.com, You'll have to become a member, but it only takes a minute and it free. Once you become a member go to the following URL: www.driverguide.com/uploads/uploads3/6983.html File name: w95s25_3.exe This driver does work with Win 98.....

Reply: (edit)The "w95s25_3.exe" file on the DriverGuide URL has the same drivers as the one with the same name on Diamond Legacy's site (I did a file-by-file compare). And they *ARE NOT* appropriate for Windows 98 (in fact, they *FREEZE* my Windows 98 if I set 1024x768 resolution). Diamond be damned!!! I am dumping the Stealth 2500 card and I'll be damned myself if I ever buy anything from those bastards anymore.

Reply: (edit)I have a Diamond Stealth 64 Video VRAM card that works great in Windows 95. But in Windows 98,it only works in 640x480, in properties the resolution cannot be changed, even though the other resolutions are listed. Got same answer fron Diamond "NOT SUPPORTED buy new card. I can change desketop to higher resolution but the viewpoint still stays at 640x480 which means to see all you have to keep moving the desktop around in the viewpoint. I have not found a solution so i dual boot and use Windows 95 most of the time. DOES ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION?

Reply: (edit)I also have the StealthIII s540 and get the same exact problem. My computer completely freezes except for my mouse. Which I think is quite odd. Anyway, I've checked all IRQ/Memory address settings for problems and found none, my BIOS is set correctly, and I can find nothing wrong with my computer. So my only guess is that it IS the video card. None of the other hardware has changed. I even tried a reinstall of 98 and that didn't fix anything. does anyone have any clues???

Reply: (edit)I dont know if this is any help but I was getting the lock up problem you describe, sometimes everything except the mouse and sometimes everything including the mouse. Mine is a PCI version of the s540 Stealth III under windows 95. I moved the card into another spare PCI slot and the problem has gone away. I dont rate the cards compatabilty with mainstream games though.

Reply: (edit)I had this same problem and the solution was to get a new one. I could 100% tell it was the Video card because I had two at the time, one worked the other did not. I believe the Diamond made huge batch of bad cards. Go to the diamond web site, email the tech support stating your problems and the solutions you tried, they will give you and RMA number to send it back and get a new one. I have tried everthing to get this card to work, from drivers to settings (on the card, in windows, with the motherboard, etc.). Give up and get a new one from Diamond.

Reply: (edit)Situation: P150 with Diamond Stealth 2500 working fine with Windows 95. No drivers available for Windows 98. In Win 98 all you can get is VGA: 16 colors and 640x480, so several programs refuse to install. Solution: I copied all the files cited in the *.inf file (Win95 version) on a floppy, including the inf file itself. Then I installed Win 98 on a freashly formatted harddisk. After that I installed "new hardware", and let it find the videocard files on the floppy. The result is that I can use the machine now on 800x600 and 32bits colors, "Optimal refresh rate". The PC is for the studying kids, and on that machine they are not allowed to run any games. Since it is a 15" screen, I do not inted to use a higher resolution. It is a pity that DiamondMM does not support this card in Win98.

Reply: (edit)My Diamond Stealth II S540 PCI is pissing me off!! I have an integrated video board that I can disable through the BIOS setup but then when I run anything in Winblows 98 I can rest assured I won't get far because it will freeze. I've tried using reference drivers from S3 and new Diamond drivers but they screw up my games. Any ideas?
