Hello guys!

I don't know what type of Video Card I have- My PC is built by my relatives abroad and they sent it to me, and I don't see the video card, 'cause my comp case is small and power supply blocks the video card...

My Question: How do I know the type of Video Card I have SO THAT I CAN INSTALL THE DRIVER FOR IT.

Right now, I only have 16 colors.

I heard before that there is a great program for detecting the types of hardware you have.., etc.

Any help, highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you probably mean Aida32 which can usually determine hardware even if the driver isn't installed.

Thanks *Jboy*!

That's exactly what I was looking for...

As I was waiting for the replies, I checked if THERE IS a Video Card in my System.

I followed the Cable, but I realized that My System have NO Video Card.

Before, we were using Win2k, so the Display was OK.

Now, we downgrad to win98, we need a driver.

I think that we have to install driver for the motherboard?

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Well, you must have a display adapter - whether it's a separate card or else integrated into the mainboard, really makes no difference.

If Windows can't determine the correct video driver, it uses basic vga (16 colours, 640x480) - installing the correct one will allow you to select higher resolutions.

Is the display adapter identified in device manager?

Aida should be able to tell you the make & model of the card and possibly point you to a download site - otherwise you'd do a Google search or check with driverguide.com

Ok first make sure you are connected to the internet right click on my computer . Select properties. Then select the Device manager tab. go to the Display adapters and expand it . It should be already expanded since it isnt installed properly. Select the video card you wish to install . When the window open up select the Driver tab . Click the Update driver tab at the bottom .Click Next . Search for better driver than the one is using now . hit Next make sure the Microsoft windows Update is selected . and hit next . Hopefully Win98 can still connect to windows update for drivers still. Otherwise ...

Run that program Aida 32 jboy posted and find the name of your videocard and look up the driver on Google or driverguide.com. Or post it here maybe someone can find the correct driver for ya . :P

You can't do that because that would make sence.
