Recently, I had to reinstall WIN 98. Since then, I can only select 2 or 16 colors for my monitor settings (instead of 256 as before). My vid card is a Standrad PCI (VGA). What can I do to fix the problem?

Thanks a lot!

You need to find out the manufacturer of your vid card and reinstall the proper drivers. Go to www.belarc.com and download the Belarc Advisor. Install it and do a read out on your components. Then go to the manufacturers webpage and download the latest drivers.

Take a look here for your video card and driver info.
Start/Run type in dxdiag and OK. Click the "Display Adapter" tab and check it out.
