Vid card driver missings

Recently, I had to reinstall WIN 98. Since then, I can only select 2 or 16 colors for my monitor settings (instead of 256 as before). My vid card is a Standrad PCI (VGA). What can I do to fix the problem?

You need to find out the manufacturer of your vid card and reinstall the proper drivers. Go to www.belarc.com and download the Belarc Advisor. Install it and do a read out on your components. Then go to the manufacturers webpage and download the latest drivers.

Take a look here for your video card and driver info. Start/Run type in dxdiag and OK. Click the "Display Adapter" tab and check it out. Ray
