Stupid question......i have 2 usb ports on my computer. one is used by my modem, the other is used by a webcam......i want to buy a digital cam. If i want to use one of the usb ports to load my pics from my cam, do i have to delete the webcam from that port or just unplug it and plug the digital in? (i know ill have to download software for the digital cam). Can one port be used for multiple hardware? (not at the same time of course)

You do not have to uninstall or "delete" any hardware drivers (software) from your computer. It's as simple as unplugging one (webcam), and plugging in the other (digital camera).

If you are going to be frequently doing this, consider buying a USB hub. This basically plugs into one of your USB ports and splits it into four (or more) connections, giving your more USB ports. USB hubs go for around 15-20 bucks.

If you get a hub (which is a good idea). Get a powered hub. They cost a little more, but are well worth it.
