I have two computers linked via an USB data bridge cable. Both of them have windows98 installed. One is a 200 MHZ with an cmd670b pci to usb card installed on a Rhino 12 motherboard. The other one is a 300 Mhz laptop. There is no problems visable during the connection and running the smart linq software. The problems starts only when transfering long files (1- 10 MB in MP3 FORMAT) from the older computer to the newer one. The beheviuor is sporadic - each time a different length of the same file is transfered without problems-after this the computer is busy for a few minutes and it is finally ready for a new try. After some tries the file is transfered completly. There are no problems in long files transfer between the laptop and an other laptop using the same cable. What could be done in order to fix the problem?

You can check if you can set a buffer, maybe it can be a probleme cause the usb cable is to slow to send stuff so the buffer of the new computer get empty and then it make a error.
