If I plug my SanDisk USB card reader in, the computer won't boot. It's hanging while trying to start the ACPI interrupt. If I put a memory card in, the computer thinks the card reader is the D drive. Since I already have D, E, F, G, H and I drives, everything gets out of place. System boots OK if the card reader is not plugged in. If I plug the reader in after the boot, it works OK. SanDisk haven't a clue as to what causes this. Neither have I. Anyone care to hazard a guess?

Check BIOS boot sequence. Some have boot from usb option that needs to be disabled.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I don't have that option in the BIOS. I also noticed that if I have my printer switched on, I have the same problem. The printer has a card reader of course. At least I can disable that as I don't use it.

Fixed the problem. I disabled "Legacy USB Support" (whatever that may mean) in the BIOS. Boots up a treat now.
