Hi after formatting my hard disk the system does not recognize the USB port (I am trying to install a USB web camera but the installation wizard is terminated due to this problem). Any ideas?

1. Check in the Bios to see if it is activated.
2. Go to Control Panel; System; Device Manager. Do you see it there? If not or if there is a yellow exclamation mark next to it, remove the USB drivers and re-install.

Befopre playing in the set up, you might try to force windows to find it using the add new hardware wizard (start - settings- control panel -add new hardware
let it search & see what it comes up with. If it offers a list of items and asks if it's in the list, reply no & force it to look again.

If you give us your MoBo model number and name we can trace it at the manufacturer`s web site.
To go into Bios you usually press the "del" key on your K/B.
You will now see various options - don`t know your system -so I cannot tel you exactly where to go, but somwhere under one of those options you should find a reference to USB. If you find nothing it propably does not support USB.
Did your system come with the USB ports? If it did it will be compliant but you may still need to activate it in the Bios.
Your web camera should have drivers for the USB. These are the ones that will appear under Device Manager.
