Check in your Bios for something like USB Keyboard Support and ensure it is Enabled.

If the USB ports are On-Board then ensure OnChip USB is Enabled also.

Scroll through the differnent menu's in your Bios. Post back with anything relating to USB.

Is the USB On-Board? Connection goes directly to your Motherboard or Does it go through a PCI card?

Tim,

Ensure you have a good connection.
Unplug it and plug it back in.
If it worked once then everything all software and bios settings are correct.

This is of course unless the bios battery is bad and after re-booting the default bios settings were initiated!

Check the connection and the bios settings and post back.

How about just disabling "Halt on keyboard errors" in the BIOS? That way the message would still be displayed, but you would not have to press a key to continue booting?

I have quite an old computer (1994) and I haven't used it for a while, but when i start it up it comes up with Keyboard Error Or No Keyboard present, and the system won't boot at all, and I can't gain access to the BIOS settings as the keyboard dosn't work and it won't boot. I have changed the CMOS Battery but it made no difference

Please Help, I'm going mad!
