When trying to install a bluetooth device for my nokia 6600 phone, an error message pops up indicating that I should install a list of files from my Win98 CD to windows/system. Now, the Win98 CD was damaged beyond data-retrieval, so I have to get my files from somewhere else. That's what I did. (WDMAUDIO.CAT, KSTVTUNE.AX, KSWDMCAP.AX, Etc.)I downloaded all the requested files from all around the www to the windows/system map, but then while installation continued, my computer froze up, and rebooted in the Save Mode, I had to remove all the installed files in order to get my computer back in order again. What do I do now?? can anyone help me? were the downloaded files a wrong version? or what? help!!! thanx!!

If you list all the files, I could probably email you the SE versions. I'm wondering if just copying them to the windows\system folder is enough.
Once you're sure you have the SE versions you might try the installation process again. When it asks for the 98 cd, click OK. It'll then say it can't find the files and ask where to look for them. Browse or point to the folder where you have the files and have it get them from there. That way they'll be installed as part of the installation process and not just copied.

Yeah, the AX files likely need to be referenced in system.ini under [drivers32], for instance.
Any chance the Windows CAB files exist on the hard drive?
c:\windows\options\cabs
or
c:\win98
Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience
