need USB drivers for my westell daul modem. Where can i download USB drivers from the net? or where are the usb drivers located on the windows 98 frist edition CD-rom?
i can't find the location of the USB drivers on the windows CD or the verizon CD

did you look at device manager and see if the usb controller shows up, if it does you will need your westell driver? did you try the westell manufacturrer web site?

yes they only have drivers for win98 second edition.

Yeah, if your USB controllers are enabled then the 98 installation process loaded the drivers. If you have a computer less than 3 or 4 years old, be sure to install the chipset drivers.
Do the modem requirements include 98 first edition also? If not you may need to upgrade to SE. Have you tried the drivers on the website even though they're for first edition?

Summary: USB drivers are very touchy. You may have to uninstall/reinstall a few times to get it working. Read all instructions you can find in your mannual or at their site. The exact sequence must be followed...
Summary: Dear A.J. - See your previous request. I read a Microsoft KB article on installing Win98SE and guess what??? Not ALL of Win 98 is on the Win98SE disk!! That answers why you are not finding the USB...
