I just got one of those new Motorola A835 video phones. Its got a cool in-built MP3 and everyrthing - only i cant use it cos my USB port doesnt recognise the phone.
Motorola think its cos I am running WIN98 not WIN98 SE or higher. 3, the service provider, think its a Motorola software problem. Typical.
Where can I get the WIN98 update file from now Microsoft no longer have it on there website - to try that solution. Alternatively, does anyone have any ideas how to get the phone working using my current setup.
Have tried downloading the required 'SE drivers but that doesnt sem to work??
Thanks

Hi. I don' think is a usb problem. The motorola a835 software only works on win 2000 and XP.
I will have the same problem (win 98 SE) cause is going to be my christmas treat. Hope a workaround will be avaiable soon.
Tell me how you find this new beauty.
WIN 98 rules!

I am having the same problem but i am running windows XP. It appears that all the information is installed ok but the software won't detect the phone. Are you using "mobile phone tools"? If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

I'm having problems in WINXP too. I'm doing an article about this phone and to tell you the truth, i have written just bad critics.
Mine's got only 64mb of memory - i have read, that the A835 is suppose to have 256MB?!
I'm verry disappointed with this phone :/
email me, if you'll find out, how to connect the phone to PC

I have the same problem but in Windows 2000. All of the software installed fine, but the program (mobile phone tools) won't recognise the phone, and windows keeps trying to tell me that "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)". pls email if anyone finds a solution.

I haven't got the phone yet, but Motorola say u can download software for the phone from the website.. if it ain't working yet hopefully they'll post new software/drivers onto their website.
Gotta question for y'all! what's the quality of the recorded video & picture (I'm not so bothered about the streaming video chat). Could u get technical with me and give me some specs like resolution + fps (frames per second)
thnks
