I've got one too. I need to share this, maybe
someone can help me out. My Sportster is 56K,
V.90 complaint. Well, the thing disconnects me whenever it feels like it. I have replaced
everything on the computer and the problem
persists. It was fixed when I was lent a
MultiTech 28K modem and replaced the Sportster. 3Com told me to place the init
config string at&F1 when the modem is initialized and to lower the maximum speed
to 38400 both in the Modem applet in Control
Panel and in the same field of the Properties
dialog box of the ISP connection in the applet used to connect by telephone to external networks. Has anyone had similar
behavior?? Thanks for your attention, sorry
to interrupt this post like this.

Salvador
