US robotics 56K voice win modem

I am having problems connecting to my local internet provider with my US robotics 56k voice win modem. My relatives are using a 56k fax modem and can connect on the first attempt, I have to try it 6-12 times before I can connect. Are there any drivers I can download that can help?

I have the same problem with my WinModem. I try it the first time and it wont connect properly. After shutting the computer down and turning off the power and then rebooting, it will connect. I've tested it with programs to check if it has a problem and haven't found an answer.

I had about the same problem with the 56k winmodem I had, the solution i found was to get rid of the piece of junk and get a real modem,I'm still using USR but it's a 56k fax modem.
also did you know ?
WINMODEMS
1. run off your cpu , it can not support its self
2. it uses system ram for its opperation (to store it AT and register settings ect.)
3. it is windows based ( it wont work in dos,win.nt,win.ce) this means if the web site is not fully windows based you probably wont get in (this info is not on the box)
4. the recommend having a pentium 200 or better (they don't say that on the box either)

Hi, I found my 56K winmodem's driver at www.3com.com
I install it like this:
First I download the driver files 568302w.exe
and extract them to a directory at my harddisk.
then i try to install the drivers of modem from the system properties but i install another device and show the 568302w driver and it found the modem and
i wrote this message from the connection of this modem

I only connect at 45k/s with my voicewin and everyone else with a 56k connects at 127k/s I need help to solve this problem and what other 56k modems that are NOT voicewins are reccomended. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the OEM version of 56K voice win modem is 3594, but how can I go into 3Com site to get the driver for that product.
the vendor is not helpful, he gave me a driver file :ModemW9xriver, but inside is for MDM1807W.inf and he refuse to help to install. I try, but the computer will not accept, since it looking for MDM3594.
pls help.

My vendor gave me these drivers. I've installed it under win98a/b and win95osr2.5 both without having to force them. They seem to work. Go to the webpage to get them.

3com website does have driver listed but not supported.
Like the guy above said...3cp263594-oem-50 is the chip on board. The file supplied by 3com is 3594w9x.zip and it describes the model as a 3c1807WnM and if you look at the internals of the inf tthey define characteristics of the 3cp263594oem embedded...

The US Robtics modem driver for Model 0766
3CP263595-OEM-50 has got to be the hardest driver to find.If I ever find the proper OEM driver I will post it and host it so others will not go nuts looking for it also.I sent an e-mail to US Robotics for some help but they never bothered to reply.Not Impressed at all.As a courtesy to it's customers, US Robotics should provide links to all modem drivers for the modems which they have manufactured.Unfortunatly, they just don't care.The modem I see in front of me has thier company logo pasted all over it
and yet they will not give me the time of day.This makes my next modem purchase a lot easier to decide by eliminateing US Robotics from the scene.

This modem is driving me crazy!
I tried hundereds of drivers.
Device manager always seems that there is no problem. But damn modem is not working. It says there is no dial tone. Or DSP error.
In fact I can't sure which model is it or does it have voice capability. (DF - DFV)
Please help me before I burn it...

To get the right drivers, you have to do this:
First, you have to know the number of your Product. Just go to Configuration - Control Panel - Modens - Diagnostics
It will show your P.ID. It�s the same number on the label on the board.
Then, go to www.driverguide.com and search for a driver that have your P.ID. I found a lot of drivers to 3CP263594 (WinModem USR 56k).
I tried a lot of drivers and they works, but my conections never get higher them 33.600. If any one have a sugestion, I apreciate.
I hope it helps.

I found it! It's on a Russian web page, but it's got what we've been looking for. Unfortunately, I can't tell from looking at the page whether they are for Win9x or NT or what...

The USrobotic/3Com modem model 0613 was custom made for gateway. Somewhere in the great gateway database you can find the drivers. Or you can get them from my page at www.geocities.com\loleebr
As for copyright 1998, 1.0120.0613-c. I have no idea what that's supposed to be, probably the manufacture date as my drivers are dated 1995.
