Fist off you need to find out who created the old site. They should have details of the hosting company, the IP address of the site and FTP passwords etc etc. You'll need an FTP program such as WS-FTP_Pro to be able to upload the pages etc. You can also search using www.google.com for free FTP tools, there are many. www.zdnet.com is a good source too.
Once you gain FTP access to the site you can delete any files there and upload new ones as required.
The important thing is to get hold of whoever created the original site, their details may even be embedded in some of the current html pages.

A simple and cheap way is to use Netscape Composer to update and modify your Website and up/download your changes.
All you really need is the password to the server that is hosting your site. Hopefully you can obtain this from the person who previously maintained the site. Otherwise you ahve to call the service that hosts your site and have them reset the password.

Copy the folders and files.
Open the ftp site in IE.
Paste the folders and files to the site.If the folders have the same name they will overwrite the existing ones.
(Didn't we already thoroughly answer this one about a week ago or was that on another forum board?)
