I am wanting to upgrade my Presario 4824 motherboard but am not sure if I can find one that will fit my current 4824 standard case. I am not even sure what kind of motherboard I have. I think it is a protech. I need help finding a faster motherboard. Thanks.

Check out Asus motherboards. They are very good quality.

you are most likely correct that a new motherboard will not fit in your existing Compaq case,or at least a bigger one with more toy slots. Most of what Compaq builds (at least older stuff) is proprietary, and many of their cases were specifically built to fit the exact size of the motherboard. I would take the extra time and a little bit of money and invest in a good ATX case. I think you will find that they are much easier to work in anyway.
