Upgrading 98 to XP, getting ntldr error

I tried upgrading 98 to XP, it went fine and then it got to the reboot part of install and came up with an error of cannot find "NTLDR". Can some one please help?

I would if I could it won't let me go back to 98, I still get the error NTldr.

Ok - I presume you are not formatting.

OK. In Windows, open Notepad, do not type anything, save the file as NTLDR (no extension) and run setup with the ntldr switch
EG:
SETUP /NTLDR


or if you are in DOS, at the prompt type:

echo # > c:\NTLDR
substitute a [space] for #
run setup with the
SETUP /NTLDR
command

I am having a similar problem, trying to install Win2K over 98 and getting the "NTLDR Missing" error. Not sure I understood your
response - you are creating an empty NTLDR
file on c:\ & then running setup /ntldr ?
