I have a Windows95 machine that needs to be upgraded to Windows98. I only have the full version of W98. I get stuck on an error that says I need to obtain the "upgrade" version. It wont let me install without reformatting. Problem is I really dont want to reinstall all the programs that are alread on the machine.
I am sure I have done this before, but its been so long, I cant remember.

Hey Matpoh.
Use a DOS boot disk. Boot the machine, switch to c:\windows.
Rename WIN.COM to WIN.CON.
Restart the '98 installation and all should be well in the '98 world.
