Hello,
I have an Nvidia geforce2 mx/mx400 AGP vidio card and would like to update the drivers for it.
Question,
The Nvidia page says that the newest version of
6.0 is compatabole with all nvidia vidio cards.
Since I am rather cautious about doing something with out a advice I was woundering if anyone out their has the same vidio card and has done the update?
Is it worth the "hassel"?
Have downloaded 2 of the three mannules and just numb from the information overload.
My windows media player dose not seam to produce an image as clear as a system that a frind with a lesser vidio card and older system dose.
Also a lot of games are just to dark to see and enjoy.
Any help?
Thanks.

If your games are too dark, try adjusting your monitor settings, or look for settings within the game itself.

I doubt updating the drivers are gonna fix your problems, but it's worth a shot. Make sure to follow the installation hints:

Also. You may want to try these drivers. Just install them over your Nvidia drivers.
They are the best thing that I've ever done for my gaming experience.

Hello,
I have my moniter turnend up to 92% britness
90% cont.
I tried 3Deep and it worked.
I also use the settings that nvidia has.
Britness, cont, digital brit, gamma.
desktop and web looks great as in other games.
But Rune, Doom, and Deablo just too dark to see. I canot afford 3Deep and have tried tinkering with the games vidio settings but to no avail. My moniter is three years old and still functions resonably well.
Just don't understand the differences on games.
Some where in the Nvidia overload they say something about overiding the settings but the version I have dosen't work on the formentioned games.
Also have both of those files downloaded too.
So back to the original question. Is Nvidia true to its work about the driver update that works on all their products? Guess I have nothing to lose.
Thank you for your input

To answer your original question. I have the same exact Nvidia video card. I've been updating whenever new drivers become available and this latest one works just fine. As for the darkness problem, I'm still using a P2, 233 and had that problem with some games before installing this card. Granted I'm not playing real heavy duty games but the latest drivers make a difference. Also, uninstalling the old driver before installing the new one is recommended.

well hummm,
uninstalled old drivers and installed new Nvida drivers system worked for about 3 hours and it just shut itself off. Then began the process of removing new and replacing with old drivers. Finnly back to where I was.
And the more I trouble shoot the more confused I got.
Update Via chipset drivers?
Update Nvida card drivers?
Update Motherboard drivers?
What or what order do I need to update?
Registry points to 4x agp use but card can go up to 8x.
AIDA32 system anilizer stated vidio card is only set for 4x and bios is set to auto.
Aida32 dose not show VIA chipset versions.
Round and round. No matter what I try the comp chockes on it.
I usally have no problems with updating or installing stuff but this is totally frustrating. It is good to have latest versions of drivers I understand and all other updates have improved system usage.
But stumped as to why friends older comp with SVGA vidio card plays .MPG files full screen and crystale clear and my fancy Nvidia 3D card has fuzzy and poor playback on full screen mode. Media player 7 is installed on my comp.
Mine is fanceryer but my friends dinosaure out preforms mine and I can't trace it down.
Dazed and confused.
Guess just be happy with the way it is now and come up with the cash for the 3Deep vidio enhansment softwaer.
Thanks for all help and suggestions. Feel free to add further thoughts or comments.

You `might' be comparing apples with oranges. Maybe the videos that he is playing were created at a higher qua;ity/resolution than yours were.

About ready to update 4 in 1 VIA chipset drivers but want a copy of originals incase of probs.(8-15-2001)
Did find VIA chipset driver version under device manager.
Should upgrade to win 98se but that is for anouther day.
Don't care much for win2000.
Havent ruled out overlooking the obviouse eather.
That is why techs get the BIG bucks to pick up the pices and rearange to a stable system.
Will post any success or failers.
