Remove this unknown database message. What is this message? It is constant. Should we dump our MS software and go back to Word Perfect?

Please e-mail me back.

Thanks, Dallas McLaughlin

Hi,
A friend had this problem and we renamed the directory from;

C:\Program Files\encompass\billing.mdb

to

C:\Program Files\1encompass\billing.mdb

He has tried this fix and was able to deleate the complete directory. BUT please rename it first to see if you need to use any of the files!! If you do try changing the name of the file only from billing.mdb to 1billing.mdb.

Please be careful when you deleate any unknown files or directories.

Regards, DRS

I got rid of this message by opening the file "billing.mdb" with MS Access and repairing it with Access. It should come up with an error that the database is corrupt when you open it with Access, then you can repair it. Hope it works for ya :)

I have the same prob.I poked around in MS and
found that the directory of this has seems
to be from them.Their programs and records.
I found a number that is always busy.
1-800-720-2167 Encompass is a company for
web designers and what not.I think they messed up.

Please disregard that phone number. It seems
the encompass file is in your computer
when you buy it.If you ,You use a local
server Yor most likely don't need this
program.Just click My comp and goto program
files.Click on Encompass once to turn it blue.Add a 1 to the begining of the name and
leave that screen.Your comp will be no longer
able to find this folder that you do not use anyway.Everything should be back to normal.
Hope this helps!

Sometimes I get this message for my kontak.mdb. My machine is little bit messy so when I reboot I can work... but still it's a very stupid message ..
it may be when some kind of time out appears between initail reading.

Solution:

There are multiple references to error# 3343 on the Microsoft Website. Please look there for #3343.

While you are at it--- if you are an access developer, be sure to include err.number & err.description in error handling...

I am also getting the same error message. there is a fix that will work depending on how corrupted the database file is. Does anyone know if upgrading to office 2000 from 97 will fix it? goto http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q182/8/67.ASP for more info on the subject

I've been getting this message too. Encompass is a GTE ISP service. I don't use it myself and thought that I had deleted it from my computer. Guess what? It's back, and I didn't put it there. I found the billing.mdb file and opened it. Access said the file was corrupted and fixed it. I'm waiting to see if it happens again. So far so good.
