After installing my new Gigabye 5AA motherboard I keep getting the "windows has found new hardware etc." on boot up. It finds a PCI card but can't find the driver. The only PCI cards I have are installed and recognized by windows (98) so what is this unknown device it keeps finding? Thanks.
Hi, You might want to erase all the unknown device inside your device manager. Then install ther driver for your PCI card (eg. display card) then restart your computer let win98 the detect again. It should get the driver you installed.

does it say pci card ...or pci device. your board probably contains pci devices , which I could guess at but it would be better if you read the manual , inc. the bios guide, and the readme files on the cd you probably got with the board, which may contain the drivers you seek. No offence , but the half hour trolling through the cd readmes must be better than hours or days of trying to recover from a wrong assumption . I visit people who have been blissfully unaware that their system has been operating on 3/4 power for months because the prospect of reading a few lines of text was too boring. I think a limping pc is even more boring.
