During a visit to the web, some website installed an ActiveX control that is making my machine go weird.
First, when i'm working in Windows Explorer, I receive a message every time I change from a folder to another one browsing my computer... it goes like this: "An ActiveX control may not be trustable to interact with other elements on this page. Do you want to allow this interaction?"
Second, every time I choose an image to be the background image on my desktop and restart my PC, the image dissappear. When I enter video properties, the image became a Web page and can only be viewed if Active Desktop is working (I don't like to use this feature). Can someone tell me what's going on here? I'm using Win98SE and IE6. Thanks!

Here's another poster with the same problem.
See if you also have lots of Wscripts running with ctl-alt-del
And try my suggestions.http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11669

That looks like a great forum WhitPhil, I bookmarked it to read more.
Just a suggestion, since a lot of spyware/adware junk is installed with Active x, download a program called Spybot Search & Destroy here:
http://security.kolla.de/ use the online button to get the updates, then run it. Read up on the items before deleteing everything because some things you might not want to delete.
Also check your browser security settings so that you don't get unwanted downloads of junk like comet cursor and gator to name a few.
