uninstalling standard display adapt

does anyone know how to uninstall the standard display adapter? the driver name is: vga.drv any help would be greatly appreciated thanks corey

Why you want to uninstall the vga drv. You need that to view the display If you are setting another video hardware you should update the driver and go to cdrom of the video adaptor and update from there and so on.

Yeah..i agree with yb53... why would you wnat to do that? if you REALLY REALLY want to do that , boot into safe mode and : start button + pause / break device manager display adapters. select the driver and say "remove" BUT on the next startup it will be installed again by windows unless you install a specific driver for your video card.

My advice, don't do it.
If you should manage it, and you ever get any future display problems, the VGA adapter is what Windows will revert to so that you can fix the problem. It is used in Safe Mode. Without it you will get a black screen (which is not a lot of help).
You should be able to install a display adapter without removing VGA.
