My problem is that stimon.exe lock-up my computer during startup if i boot without my Agfa snapscan 1212u connected to the usb-port.Other usb devices is a hub with two joysticks connected to the second port. If I boot with stimon.exe disabled there is no problem booting with the disconnected scanner. Is there a solution other than disabeling stimon.exe / booting with my scanner connected ?
Win98, Abit BE6-II, P3650E

Beg to differ with you reghakr. Stimon (Still Image Monitor) is absolutely necessary in order for the certain scanners to operate. When it mysteriously disappeared from msconfig in my computer my HP 5100Cxi scanner would not operate. I had to put it back into my start menu in order to reload it into msconfig. Now my scanner operates fine again. With out Stimon you will get an error message that another program is accessing the scanner. This is a known issue and is posted on the HP website.

For SCSI, maybe. Not USB. I've got a Microtek at home and have a HP 4200 at work. Both have USB connections and both have Stimon removed.

I have an HP ScanJet 5pse ssci... I need stimon also or will get cannot access scanner.. My problem is with Stimon loaded I get fatal error blue screen saying
(OE) 0028: F000EA79 how do I fix that? I didnt know why my scanner wasnt working so I would delete it from device manager and reboot.. I also have a USB Kodak web camera.. When I rebooted in my ctrl alt del would be HPJSJVXD and Stimon.. With out Stimon and just the hpjsjvxd I get error(2) and scanner dont work.. I also have
another start up called hpsjbmgr that has to do with pushing the green button on my scanner.. Does that have to be in my startup? Thats not why I am getting fatal error on stimon is it? I hoep I don't have to reinstall windows.. If anyone wants to e-mail me I would appreciate it.. Thanks, Rose
