unable to play pc games or listen to cd music or watch movies after install win98se. Able to install game but not able to play it. Very weird.

you may be trying to do too much with a dinasour computer.
win98 is not much to use anymore.

Well maybe not the updates but the drivers yes.

"win98 is not much to use anymore."

it's as usable as it needs to be for the users task. I have several 98 rigs that purr like a kitten and growl like a tiger when there doing heavy tasks. The system is as much usable today as it was back then.

It just depends what the person needs it for.

The question is did you ever have the same games running on that computer using Win98se before? If so, you have some things missing.

Check in device manager. Since it started with the 98 installation you may need to install sound and/or video drivers.

Maybe it could be the 'enable digital audio'. Its greyed out. Maybe thats why i can't play games or vcd movies?

Reinstall the Drivers for Windows and make sure all the drivers are not saying "not installed" in the Device Manager.
