Unable to install java sun

CPU/Ram: PIII 256k

I tried to play trivia in www.owl21.com but it is necessary to install java sun for win98 Just i followed the instructions to do it so the file was in my documents however when I want to open it nothing is in vew to continue the installation. In othe pc with just the same OS it was installed without problem . What could be the problem?

Only thing I can think of is a corrupted download. Try another and ensure it is for W98SE.

I downloaded directly from Java sun web for win98 but sucess.I installed the file at the desktop and tried to open and nothing. I have the file in view at desktop so I unnistalled and installed again no help. I think of it is very easy to install but i do not see where is the error.

I downloaded from this web page and installed at the desktop but the problem is the same when i try to open from the icon nothing happens so I can not install java.
It is a mess a do not undertand why somenthing simple is so hard to do,

Beats me too....

I assume all your other programs (.exe's) run?

Try renaming it to simply jre.exe and have another go at running it.
(just a crazy hunch).
