Using a P11 350 win98 2nd ed I'm suddenly unable to change my display to 800x600 or higher. (where it once was.) I've checked the video card (O.K.), and I've checked the bios settings (O.K.) I'm still stuck in 680x420 and 16 colors. Could it be a "bad PCI slot" or a bad motherboard or what......? Gene

Hey Gene. Is 640x480 as high as it goes? And, is your color depth able to be set higher than 256 colors? If so, and your video card is able to reach 16, 24 or 32 bit color, then it would seem that you have some corrupted video driver files. Try re-installing the drivers for your video card. This usually works. Good Luck.

Try this click start, run, type msconfig, click ok, click advanced tab, look at list and see if there is a checkmark in box beside 640 X 480 if there is uncheck the box by clicking on it. That should do the trick. Otherwise it is bad driver install or bad video card.
