is there a device or switch i can hook up so that both of my computers can use the same monitor? what's it called and where can i get it? i went to best buy, radio shack, circuit city and a couple other places and nobody had one.
It's called a KVM switch. I have a Hawking CS-144 4 port KVM switch.
Before you buy any KVM switch, DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! They come in all sorts of "flavors". There are 3 type of mouse ports, 3 types of keyboard ports, 2 types of monitor ports, and various video resolutions.
KVM switches make it cheap and easy to add more computers.
Note: Most 21 inch monitors have 2 video inputs.

I'm using a Belkin Omni-View SE 4-port switch. It's great. I have have four computers hooked up at the same time but use only one mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
