Look in your BIOS and motherboard book. If it is an integrated AGP, when you install a PCI vid card, that automatically becomes your main display, but you still want to try to disable the onboard vid, so you are not using any more resourses than you have to.

If you can't turn off the video in the bios, you can often allocate as small amount of memory to it as possible and just leave it. What you then need to do, is disable the item through device manager, install your new card, and when windows boots up and finds the card, install the drivers for it. You must disable the old intergrated in device manager first otherwise windows will get confused when you boot with both cards even if your monitor is now connected to the new.

Better still guys, if you go to the website, you can get a snapshot of your motherboard which shows you where your motherboard jumpers are located and how to manipulate them. It will show you how to "Turn Off" your Video adapter by setting the jumper accordingly.
