Trying to find more icons???

I saw where someone has posted a question in 2002 wanting to know where they could find more 'icons' on there PC. There were replies i.e., ,QUARTZ.DLL, MPLAYER2.EXE, pifmgr.dll. I was wondering if anyone new of anyother place where there were more icons???? I've tried downloading icons but left with no way to extract them having no knowledge about them. Thanks in advance for your help. FastEddy

The web site that you download icons from (and there are many) `should' have information on how to extract them. If you post an example of one that you have downloaded, I'm sure someone can help.

There are 1000's on your PC. I use a program called IconView which extracts whichever ones you fancy into icon files (.ics or .ico) to use in shortcuts or whatever.
