Hi, whenever i try to install acrobate reader..using either acrordr4.exe or ar500enu.exe files, after it auto unpacks the required files, then it disappears totally. i mean, i cant seem to install like how normal programs should.

I have the ar500enu.exe When I right click on it and select properties I see the following: Size 8,614kb Date May 26, 2001 From Version tab: V. 2.02.001 Description: Package for the Web Stub Copyright: 1996 Installshield Corp. Although mine is already installed I clicked on ar500enu.exe to see what happens: It unpacks as you mentioned and then it immediately goes into the install shield setup screen. I am suspecting that you have a bad download and since this happens with the version 4 I am guessing that you are using a download accelereator or a non-Windows download manager and are winding up with a corrupted download. (never understood the use of d/l managers for this reason. If you have to download more than once then you have not saved any time) So, if the above is true then try disabling the d/l manager and d/l'ng again. Either way, you have a bad download. Are you getting it direct from Adobe?

i've managed to install it in Safe mode anyway. didnt re-download the file. used the same file to install. could install properly. Thanks!!
