When I try to go onto internet -- via wireless or via phone line -- the computer begins freezing and gives message "TROJAN HORSE PSW.Dumarin.G
in C:\WINDOWS\PRNTSRVR.DLL" and at the same time it gives my AVG ANTIVIRUS 4 CHOICES: ENABLE ACCESS, OR NO ACCESS, OR HEAL, OR NEVER ALLOW ACCESS.NO MATTER WHICH CHOICE I Click, THE COMPUTER SCREEN DARKENS, AND SLOWS, AND RESOURCES DROP DOWN TO ZERO, THEN IT TOTALLY FREEZES.
then i have to start over -- and still cannot get onto the internet.
PLEASE SHARE STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO GET THIS THING OUT OF MY COMPUTER.
THANK YOU very much.
--SINCERELY,
C.G.

Frist of all, you might get more step by step instructions if you post this in the right forums. I'll do the best I can, but it will be somwhat generic.
You're going to need to find a way to access to internet regardless in order to get some tools to help you out here. I'll assume you have that capability in this instance.
Download and install a Spyware program like Ad-Aware or Spybot Search and Destroy and let it run it's course on the infected machine. Just follow the default prompts and that should be good enough in this situation.
Once you clean the spyware check to see if the trojan horse is still on the system. If it is then you'll need to update any anti-virus software you might have (this is where it gets tricky since you would be better off to be able to connect to the internet on the infected machine and do this step. I can not find any specific information on this particular trojan horse (such as removal tools), sorry. There are plenty of similar ones and they mostly indicate they are password grabbers. Not a good thing. If you can run both the Spyware and an undated virus scanning software with the latest definitions you should be fine. Otherwise, I'd suggest posting this in the "security and virus" forum and see if someone there can help. Good luck!
(worse case you could restore the registry but I think the folks in the other forum might have a less drastic approach.)
Where's the any key?

I have this virus also, but I have windows ME. I will follow the advice above and hope for the best. This is the first time that I've knowingly had a virus and I've waisted a full day trying to fix it luckily I've managed to get online, so i will be able to resolve it. Anyone have any advice as far as what precautions I should take after this is off of my computer as I have been doing some business transactions in the last couple of days?? Also how are you sure that this is permanentyl off of your computer after completing the above procedure?? Thanks for all of the help- I'll definitely be glad when all of this is over.
Thanks,
Mark

Hello,
Can anyone help me please!?? When going through the steps to remove the virus I can't find find "Winlogon" under the folder
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Microsoft>Windows NT>CurrentVersion>Winlogon
and I can't find Shell=explorer.exe%System%\netdc.exe in the Registry either??
Every help board has this procedure listed, but I can't find these files.........
Can someone please help me?? I need to get this thing off of my computer, desperately.
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Sorry if it appears that I am trying to fob you off (I'm not) but you would be "far" better off raising this as a new post on the Security & Virus forum. That is where the real experts on this sort of thing hang out and so you will get the most useful advice.
This is better than tacking your problem onto someone elses post.
Good luck
