Hello everyone. I would greatly appreciate your help with this. I have WIN98 and am having a problem with my pc. It started rebooting by itself and when it came up, I immediately went and downloaded a virus scan program. It found the belt.exe virus. I tried to remove it via the program but it would not, so I just went into the system and system/temp directory and deleted every belt file. So I rebooted and started getting the Microsoft Registry Checker program. It would backup the system directory and then restore the files, then it says it found a good registry, press enter to restart.....well I do this and it is in this continuous loop. I cannot get out of it. What can I do? Is there any bootable programs that will clear this up? Should I put my WIN98 system disk in and repair the registry and system files? Please all your help is needed and GREATLY appreciated. Just let me know what I need to do or if you need any other info. I am just wondering if this belt is responsible? Thanks so much! Kel

Boot into safe mode. (as the machine is booting, tap F8 and choose safe mode from the boot menu) Once in safe mode, click Start > Run > typemsconfig and click OK. Click the startup tab and uncheck the entry for Belt.exe and click OK. Reboot to Windows.
