If you have 3 hard drives the process is simple. Take the hard drives one at a time, and with the drive as the primary master, do a basic install of the OSes on to each of the drives (1 OS to a drive, of course). Then reinstall the drives. After you have auto-detected them, you can boot each one of them by pressing delete at startup or on restart and from the BIOS choosing the drive assignment that will boot the appropriate OS (A,C D,A E,A). If you make one partition on the Win 98 harddrive FAT 16 (any partition less than 512mb under FAT32 becomes FAT16 by default) you will have a partition that both FAT32 and NTFS can read, great for moving files between the 2 OSes. It takes a little while to get used to, but I have found this method very effective and by having the OSes in thier native FATs it elimiates "crosstalk": DOS6.22/Win3x choking on Long filenames, for example. Email me if you have any questions. I am running a Windows for work groups\Win 98\NT 4.0 multiboot myself.

Two words System Commander. It is the same compant who makes Partition Magic. System Commander has Partition Magic built in, only thing you have to do is install it and it does the rest of the work for you.

Okie, Sooooo.
Use a large ham sandwich and eat slowly. This will allow, partition magic, time to feck your machine. After completing the operation. Proceed to eat plenty of Push Pops.

I take it you want to run a multi-boot to have smoother running of dos games with sound, mouse and cd-rom support?

Do a search in Altavista for "dos multi"

Doesn't the boot.dos file in NT give you the option to boot your system to DOS and the boot.ini gives you other options, including multi boot options such as for w2k, different drives, etc. Trouble is, what are the details of doing this. I see that the boot.dos file contains what I guess is a partition table program. . . I am looking for the details. Anyone knowing more please note here or email a link to sierrasnow@home.com. And Thanks to whome ever is providing this forum.

First install DOS after you have formatted your hard drive.
Next Partition your drive using the fdisk command.
Install Windows 95 on one of the partitions.
Next create three boot disks that you need to setup NT4.O, Insert Nt4.0 cd-rom in the drive
and type Winnt/ox in the Start/Run box
Reboot and insert bootdisk1 at bootup follow setup intsructions install NT4.0 in the unused partition, you can choose to Ntfs or Fat file system after Nt4.0 is installed
your computer will be a multiboot system.
There are info resources available at Microsoft's website.
