Currently running Windows 98 on a Gateway 450 with a HP CDWriterPlus 8200 Series. The problem I have is about an error message when I try to transfer MP3 files to CD. Error Message: Cannot copy (file):Access Denied. I want to be able to take the MP3 files off my hard drive and maintain on CD-RW. The files attributes are set at Archive.
Not certain what the differences in Archive, Read Only, etc., so information on this would be helpful also. How can I cut and paste from hard drive to CD-RW? Thanks from a new member.

You can't cut and paste into a CD-RW! You need a burner software to do that!

Nero is the best selection for yoU! You MP3 can be burn too into your CD-RW!

The cdwriter 8200 made by HP should have come with Adaptec 3.0 with direct cd 2.8.
You can drag and drop to a cdrw.

Make sure the cd is formatted first.
Make sure direct cd is running in the background.

There was an ASPI32 update patch for the burner as well as a firmware update.

I don't have these anymore as my 8200 was given to my son and I have since upgraded.
The HP cdwriter has since been discontinued.

George.
