I have a new computer and would like to move my emails to the new computer. How can I do that? I know there is software that you can purchase but I just want my email. I transferred everything else with my zip disks. Is there a folder withing Outlook that I can copy and move.

There might be another way, but this will work:
File -> Import and export -> Export to a file -> Personal Folder File (.pst) ->Select the folder you want to export eg. Inbox -> Choose a directory and file name eg. A:\inbox.pst -> Finish
An your other computer: File -> Import and Export -> Import from another program or file -> Personal Folder File ->Select the saved pst file (a:\inbox.pst)-> Select the folder to import from (eg. inbox) -> Finish

Good luck.

Panic Over saves your email, address book, favorites
and docs so you can restore them after a reload of
Windows 98. You must have a D or E drive to run this program.

Hi,
Panic Over work fine (thanks jmatt) but if you have made a new Folder you will have to move all mail back to the inbox and sent box before backing up or you’ll lose them,
Or just go to C:\ windows\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook and than save the PST file.
But first go throw you’re mail and delete as much of the mail you don’t need empty the recycled bin try and backup any attachments to floppy then delete them from mail box,
This will make the PST file smaller (mines 20MB)
Then copy and paste back to the other pc but if you get the popup message to combine the mail click NO or you may lose them,
Or you can email them all to you’re self and then check mail on the other pc or if the PST file is not to big then send you’re self an email and attach the PST file.

Copy all the files to your zip disk with a .dbx extension. They will be in a folder with an address like this or just copy the folder using windows explorer:

C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\{72CAE580-C4A3-11D4-9AEF-ABFD6E587E35}\Microsoft\Outlook Express.

Then you use your import that is in outlook express. When you come to it check the "import mail from an oe5 store directory".

You may want to import your favorites and address book. That is done similar as the above. Your address book will end in .wab and your favorites will be listed under C:\Windows\favorites and your address will be under C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

Good luck
