I need to transfer files from my computer with XP and to my laptop with Windows 95. I have tried laplink 3 and the guide in XP but it didn't work. Anyone know how to?

What volume of files and how frequently? Might it be simpler to burn a re-writeable CD instead? Quite honestly, 95 and XP are so far apart in the timeline, I imagine this and other compatibility issues will abound. Maybe time for that OS upgrade for the laptop? :)

mike,
If it's a one time or infrequent thing then what i've done in the past is use a converter to hook your harddrive from your laptop straight into your XP desktop and copy the files over nad then stick the drive back in your laptop. If you hook your laptop drive to your secondary IDE controller then you don't even have to worry about jumpers just make sure you unplug your CD or whatever other master device is already on that cable. The converter goes for about $10, it just hooks onto your laptop harddrive on one end and your IDE cable on the other end and a power cable goes to your power supply, boot up and you'll see your laptop drive on your XP box and copy what you want over. Good luck! ;o)
ciao, wired
