I'm new at this computer and would like to
know how to put digital pictures onto a
floppy disk. I could buy a book and read
about doing this but I thought I could find
a very good answer here.

I do not know much about memory sticks and other ways digital cameras hold their photos.
I have a Sony digital camera and floppies are the "film" it uses.
Once you load your photos onto the computer. Simply copy and paste them to the floppy in your A drive.
Remember that floppies can't hold much.
And scanned photos are often bitmap images and can be as large as 500kb. With that in mind you could barely get two photos to a disk. But if yours are in Jpeg format you might be able to put 10-15 photos on the floppy.
My digital jpeg photos are about 35-50 kb. If your files are too large you can download this jpg utility. It is free. http://home1.photoisland.com/photosharing/freedwld.html.It can convert bitmaps and gifs to jpegs. It can also reduce the file size of your jpegs.
Good Luck

big daddy,
im guessing you have windows or you wouldnt be in this area. anyways.. the easiet way is to right click the file a drop down window will pop up , go down to 'Send To' and chose 'a:' drive , or you can chose 'cut' or 'copy' then go to the a drive in my computer and select 'paste' . or you can drag the picture to the a drive ... ther are so many ways . also to add Bach is right, BMP file formats are large and you may only be able to fit only one file in a floppy. JPEG format retain the same picture quality but at a lesser file size. plus BACH and Big Daddy you do NOT have to download the JPEG file converter . fortunatly windows is a lil smarter than that . simply highlight the file you wish to convert from .BMP to .JPG, then go up to the tool bar select 'File' then select 'Save As' , a new window will pop up and request you type in the format you wish to 'Sace As' , simple type name of pic and Format letters e.g. 'MYPIC.JPG' . its so sad to even see you ask that question here.seriously Big Daddy there is a self tutorial on the WIN9x cd-rom that teaches you simple things like cut, paste, drag and how to maintain your computer. i subjest you take a look at it and learn about your computer before you think about getting online .
Learn computer first, online second .
if only it was the law.
have fun,
felix

Very true that windows allows you to choose bmp or jpeg.
What I did mention about the jpeg converter can reduce the file size even more.
This is especially nice when you plan to email the photo or upload it to a web site.
Sorry if I have gotten off subject here. I have just really enjoyed this tool.
I remember when I first started the computer. Lots of trial and error. I wish I knew then about sites like this.
