Hi,
You seem to ahve a reputation so I thought you might be able to help me with my problem. I was wondering if you know how to change to Icons on the desktop? I know how to change the shortcuts but how do you change the icons for say "My Computer" or "Recycle bin" or "My Documents"? Thanks for you help if you choose to except this mission.
Stu.

i'm not the count , but heavy tech.
right click the icon, click on change icon.
then hit browse.
in the file line there, type one of the following
moricons.dll [this file may not be in 98]
shell32.dll [lotsa icons here]
open and highlight the icon you want.
hit okay

Thanks anyway k... but someone answered my problem... the way you suggested only fixed the icon changes for shortcuts. I was told to go to Control Panel and then Display and then Effects to change it from there.
Thanks Stu.

Hi Stu,

First of all, thanks for the kind words!

If I had popped in earlier, I would have excepted this mission. :)
Easy to say, when the mission is over. ;)
Anyway I'm glad someone else answered your question, and that you got it worked out!

Maybe I can be of more help, on a other occasion. Thanks for posting back.

k, Thanks for your input, it's appreciated!

Hey Count, long time, ya. And on this problem of the icons, if I had popped in earlier I could of pointed them in the direction of my "how to" page on my site that gives the step by step instructions for changing destop icons.
Take Care Count,
Terri

Haven't had any time to do updates. Until this weekend that is. Got Saturday off. First one in, I can't even remember how long. Still working on my taxes(should of been in a week ago, and hubbys plant walked out on strike a day before taxes were due. Am I having fun yet? Hahaha...
That explains no updates on site and no emails to you or anyone else I guess. Take care and hope to hear from you soon. Have to get up for work in 4 hours now.

.... and the miserable boring moral to this story is:

Be patient and don't post again until you have checked the answer given to an immediately previous post. This one:

Just popped in to check on few threads, not sure how long I'll stick around this evening/night.
Have been pushing the limits the last couple of days. :)
