Hi there...

Notice that you (and sometimes others too) seem to favour sending help info directly to the 'message-poster' (via their Email) but do not duplicate/post the info here as well.

All very well for the person asking for help, but absolutely no help to anyone else..

Perhaps you (and the others) can also post your answers here - that way 'everyone' benefits from your input???

Tanx...

I think that there are some situations where e-mail exchange is appropriate, such as sending missing files, or when someone really needs "walk through" type help that might take several pages of instruction. However; I would hesitate giving out my personal e-mail address--or one to which the mail would be sent to my home PC--on this or any "public" site.

Good advice ???, especially for the newbees.
There are a lot of very helpful people who use this site, but there are also a few jerks who would not hesitate to transmit a virus, trojan, etc., to an unsuspecting person who comes here for help--or even to someone who simply wants to give help, like Anon.

Unless you know who you are dealing with, or have a way to trace them, it's best not to exchange e-mails with users of this site.
