Hi.I saw your reply and wanted to send you an email but there wa no mail address. You ask me that if my cdrom is detected by the device manager in the Windows. No there is no cdrom device but when I boot my computer in safe mode I can see the cdrom in the device manager. But when I double click to My Computer I can not see the cdrom drive.
Also you ask me what other hardwares I have?
I forgot to add these hardwares:Voodoo3500 AGP video card, WinTv Haupauge Tv Card.

Please help me to solve my problem which makes me angry.I tried all the ways 3 hours but couldn't do anything. When my computer boots it detects both the cdrom Asus and the cdwriter Yamaha.(In the Bios Cmos Setups I selected all the primary, secondary ide AUTO.
But when Win98 se is loaded and when I click to My Computer icon on the desktop I can not see F:(Cdrom) and G(Cdwriter).I tried to use new hardware wizard but it doesn't detect anything. So I select from the last Cdrom Controller but it gives me 3 options to choose from but when I choose one of them(Mitsumi,Sony,...) my computer blocks me.
I tried to boot my computer with my boot disk but I get an I/O error and it doesn't boot so from the Bios I selected from the boot sequence first cdrom and I inserted my Win98se installation cd and I had success but the cd says you have already a windows installed and you can not reinstall.I tried other things but nothing changed in the system devices I can not see anyhing about the cdroms. Also it is vert strange that my CPU's red light doesn't blink it is allways red and it was not before like this.My system summary:
PIII-450mhz,256 Sdram Pc133,Abit BE6 mainboard,Asus 50X Cdrom,Yamaha 3200 eide cdwriter,SB Live PCI 128,Win98 SE os,...

have you checked in device manager if it is detected there? Also what other hardware do you have in your system? Remeber there are only 15 IRQs which need to be allocated to each hardware component and if all the IRQs are full then it wont be dtected. You can also try different IDE cable

I suggest that you try having only one drive at a time hooked up to the system. Make sure that each works ok by itself. If that works ok, double check your plugging and try them both connected. You should not need to install any drivers for them, windows has a driver built-in.
