Hi DeepakV,
Thanks for your help. You were right I did not select the oprion you refered to... I checked the c-drive properties and next to FAT was nothing.. no numbers at all. Do you know what this means or should I just try again like you said.

previous post (one anyways) - it's confusing when multiple names are employed.

FAT is the same as FAT16 (as opposed to FAT32)

It means that no matter what your hard drive capacity, the largest partition can be no greater than 2 Gb - which apparently is the case here.
You must not have selected 'large disk support' when originally setting up the disk.

You can convert to FAT32, but you'd still only have a 2Gb FAT32 partition. Not exactly sure what would be the best route to convert & then merge partitions - you'd likely need 3rd part software to do it non-destructively.

Might be easier to start over.
