there is no hard drive why?

OS: windows 98
CPU/Ram: pentium 2 512 ram

its a simple question but not sure how to answer it.

i have no hard drive installed or cdrom, when i insert the floppy why does it say there is a c drive with system files on it?

thankyou for your help it will be appreciated

If by "the floppy" you're referring to a standard Win98 bootdisk - many of those create a temporary RAM drive, which is assigned the first available drive letter - if there is no hard disk, then the RAM drive becomes "C:"

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
