I downloaded a file that's supposed to be a driver for a hayes accura 14.4. modem, I followed the advice that was suggested to me, by installing the INF file but it still didn't detect the modem, what I need is the installation disk that came with that modem, does anyone know where I can get it since the INF file thing didn't work?
Why bother fighting problems with a extremely slow 14.4 modem. New 56k modems aren't that expensive.

You have a 14.4? Get real. Pay the $25 and get a real modem.

Windows includes that driver, maybe your PNP is not activated. Have you tried installing the modem through the "New Hardware" of the control panel? If you keep telling "it" you want to manually select the hardware, you will eventually get to a menu, and when you select modem(to install) you can install that particular driver. The other alternative is to go into your bios and see if Plug and Play is set up.
