Thanks but I had already looked there, I posted because I could not find an answer after searching for ages. Again I will ask, does anyone know how to look in bios without closing down or rebooting. I think there is a lot of people out there that would like to know. answer if that is true.

Give it up Panther. You will never find a way to do that.

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish. The System (MOBO) BIOS is an EEPROM which contains the following:

1. POST ( Power-on Self Test)
2. Bootstrap Loader
3. BIOS (Basic I/O System)
4. CMOS Setup

It appears that many refer to the BIOS Setup as "THE" BIOS, which it is not.

If you are referring to the Bios Setup, it varies with the PC, but on mine, you press "DEL" as it is powering up, as soon as you see anything on the screen. When you do this, the clear text which you see is NOT what is in the BIOS. It is what the setup program converts it to so that you can understand it. Most of the contents of the BIOS chip is machine code and would appear as garbage if you attempted to read it.
If you want to display any BIOS info in a manner that you can understand it, you will have to find or write a program which takes as little as a single bit and converts it into several words which will contain human intelligence. If someone knows where the program is which converts the CMOS BIOS setup data into intelligence, then you might be able to use it. I haven't found it as yet.

If you want to know where the ROM BIOS is actually located, I believe it runs from address F00000h-FFFFFFh, the last 64k of the first meg of memory.. When you power up, the system jumps to FFFF0h and executes the instruction there which is a Jump to the boot code.
But if you knew none of the above, your system would still work. I know it and I don't really care...
