Thanks to all of you that answered re: my slow defrag problem. I shut down and restarted in safe mode and defrag done, no problem.

Also thanks to minge on how to use F8 for safe mode, I always see things on here that say restart in safe mode and I never knew how before.

See it is true you learn something new every day.
