In my quest to tweak out another ounce of speed of my little processor, I would like to know how to tell my computer where to store the swap files.
I have a fairly full C drive where my 98SE O/S and most programs are--and a pretty empty secondary HDD. I have heard that putting the swap files on the "more free" HDD(if you have more than one)will speed things up some.
But how do I do it? Can anyone give me detailed instructions?

Does that give me the opportunity to choose WHERE I want the virtual memory to reside? In other words--->on WHICH hard drive or folder in specific alternate HDD location?
I thought that only gave me choices to let Windows handle it's SIZE or to do the SIZE choices myself, but not WHERE to have it be stored.

But you need for instance Norton to determine where exactly you want it. Adrian's Rojak Pot advice: at the outer side of the main harddisk.

Do not let Norton or anyone else tell you where you want it. It is your machine you decide. I hear the first partition of the second hard drive provides fastest access.
Set a minimum but no maximum. Use System monitor to determine how large to make the minimum.
Summary: A bit of bad advice above. You need to do 2 separate operations here. The files were compressed (zipped) to make the file smaller & thus faster to download.First you need to unzip the files to make th...
